Tattoos have been a form of protection and talisman since the 18th century. Sailors used to cover the weaker parts of their bodies, like the arms or heart with symbols of strength as lucky charms.
The tattoos on the graves of sailors depict a ship that is sinking, but still partially visible above water. They also include an anchor,Patek Philippe replica watches a life preserver, or an eagle. The dial is made of silver, and has been engraved, stamped and encrusted to give it a sense of depth. The anchor and the vessel sinking behind it take up most of the dial.
